[I] Senior

Normally I take pictures of kids.
Kids do what they want.
They don't quite pose or smile on cue.

I have been wanting to branch out a little and take pictures of "grown ups"
This year my little brother is graduating...PERFECT!
Senior pictures!

He is graduating from Curtis High School in University Place, WA
Class of 2013
We went to Chambers Bay Golf Course
for a "manly backdrop"

Here are a few of the pictures!

Christmas is Coming!

November 1st
the day after Halloween
Starbucks holiday red cups come out
my husband watches his first Christmas movie!

This is not a joke...
Christmas starts early in this household.

I was looking at pictures of last Christmas and came across this one.

I made this cake for Christmas last year.
With Brian's family we always have a birthday cake for Jesus.
All of the Great Grand Kids usually decorate it but they didnt have time last year.
So I made a Chocolate Cake with Peppermint Buttercream.
I decorated it with mini candy canes and it turned out cuter then I couldve ever imagined!
I took the candy canes and put them in a ziplock bag.  I wrapped the bag in a kitchen towl and then rolled smashed the candy canes until they were as small as I wanted.
After I smashed them I put them in my hand and pressed them into the frosting.
I made hearts with the candy canes on top.
I hope you enjoy the cake!
Wish I would've written down the frosting recipe...

Seabrook, WA

Last weekend was wonderful!
Every year we kick off the holiday season with the Holden family during a weekend trip to Seabrook.
Seabrook is a little town established in 2004.
My in-laws (Neil and Sheryl), my brother and sister in law (Andy and Jesie), Niece (Ellie), and their dog (Toby) we all go down for at least 2 nights!
Grandma and Grandpa join us for one night.
We made this a tradition in 2010 and have stayed in the same house every year since!
There are the perfect beach cottages right by the ocean!
This is the view from "our" house.
The first night was Neil's Birthday!

Brian's adoption birthday is the same day.
He channeled his inner child coloring.
Ellie did not want to go to bed!
Just wanted to sing Happy Birthday to Papa!

Do you think this family likes fruit?

The next day we went to the new pool!
This was our first time coming when it was finished.
Neil, Andy, and Ellie swam sat on the stairs.
Ellie was not too excited for Auntie Em to make them "Say Cheese"
When she got back on the stairs she was a happy girl.
How Beautiful is that little face!?
After the pool, Brian and I went on a little walk around this cute town!
It is such a wonderful break from reality!

Toby has come with us every year!
Next year he will have his buddy Tucker to keep him company!

Ellie gave Great Grandpa Don Don nice snuggles.

What is going on in this picture?
That would be Andy and Neil stretching.
Yes, Stretching!
Not an uncommon sight this trip.

Ellie is one of the smartest little 2 1/2 year olds I know!
In this picture it looks like she is reading this book...
No, she is smarter then that.
She has her books memorized!

This sweet little face looks so innocent...
Until nap time...

That would be the proud mom and dad covered in baby powder.

She had one FUN nap!

Every year I have taken a picture of Ellie in this Big Yellow Chair.
The day we go to that house and the chair is gone I may cry.
These pictures are just too precious!

We had so much fun at "A Whale of An Adventure"

Can't wait until next year!

A shower for a miracle!

***If you are visiting from Pinterest, Welcome!  Feel free to comment and tell me what idea/picture brought you to my blog!"***
This weekend I had the pleasure of helping my mother in law throw a shower for Angie!

Angie is married to Brian's oldest cousin.  She threw me a bridal shower about a year and a half ago and did a wonderful job!  She is known as the party girl of the family.

When God blessed Angie with this little miracle baby my mother in law knew she had to throw a shower.  This shower was originally planned for December but little Samantha decided to come a month early!  So the shower date got pushed up!

Since Brian and I just moved in with his parents while we are remodeling our new home I told Sheryl (mother in law) I would be her helping hands for this shower!

We went all girl!  The theme was "Vintage, Cute, Pink, Girly!"

One of the first things I wanted to do was make a huge cluster
of Poms, lanterns and chains on the beautiful ceiling!

Sheryl worked so hard on all of this wonderful food!  There were not many leftovers!
I made some cupcakes!
My favorite part of a party is the details!

My sister in law Jesie read a beautiful poem about waiting for God's timing.
We had to bring out the tissues for this!

Then it was present time!  She is going to have a different adorable outfit for every day of the year!

I love the reactions!

There were some Beautiful Diaper Cakes!

Angie's mother in law Shirleen makes beautiful handmade blankets for all of her grandkids.
She gave Angie the newest grandkid blanket at the shower!

We had a full house of love for the new baby.  There were more people around the corner to welcome baby Samantha.  She couldn't join us because she is too small.

Angie's sister in law Kelly made this wonderful scrapbook for Samantha that everyone filled up with advice for the little princess.  She threw a shower for Angie a few weeks ago and brought it along to this shower too.  It was perfect!

It was beautiful!

Our thank you favors were jelly beans!

Congratulations Angie!
We are so excited for your family.
Samantha is so lucky to have you as her Mother!
